My Principles

My principles are largely an outcome of my interaction with my father in the formative years of my life. Being a teacher, he had dictums interwoven in conversations that would later shape my life, thinking and career in a big way. These principles have been strengthened by my family and the friends I interact with locally and internationally.
  • Patient as a care partner. My primary training and objective is to alleviate pain and suffering and add value to life
  • Leadership and excellence. I believe that excellence is a natural outcome of effective leadership in healthcare. You know you are a leader when the team you work with buys into your ideas and become part of the implementation caucus
  • Community. In everything we do, we must make the time and spare some resources to give back to community. Our education and learning are only useful when we positively change the community
  • Education. When you go through school, you must ‘allow school to go through you’ and be able to embrace humanity across the social divide
  • Family: Growing a family of leaders is a challenging task which requires God’s direction. One must be open-minded and allow the children to choose what they want to do and advise in order to add value to their choices
  • Friends. These are the cornerstone of success and they will always fill in the gaps to make you succeed. You must allow them to positively critique you and be willing to embrace their ideas
  • Money and savings: This is the main reason why most people work. It is gratifying to share it with the community and the needy in society. The money so generated must be saved for worthy projects
